Bible Memory

The Bible Memory Program at FPC is open to all age groups - toddlers and up. Anyone interested is encouraged to participate! The program runs from January through April. We’re here to help along the way – just email any questions to

Here is how it works:

Step One: Sign up!
Sign up now through November 30th to participate. We will follow up with you to help you choose what to memorize and to explain how the 15-week recital schedule works.

Step Two: Set your goal.
Choose the scripture you want to memorize. This can seem daunting, but we want to make it easier. There are resource books available for all age groups.

Step Three: Submit your goal.
Send us your Bible Memory goal and request resource materials you would like to try.

Step Four: Start memorizing.
Once you have your goal set and any Bible Memory resources in hand, begin setting your scripture to memory.

Step Five: Show up.
Starting Sunday, January 3, show up. We hope to be able to do this in person by January, but we will also have options for recital by telephone or video call.

Step Six: Recite.
Come prepared each week to recite your memorized Bible verse(s) to our listeners. We will keep track of how many verses you memorize and recite over the 15-week period. We ask that you try to make 12 out of the 15 weeks.

Step Seven: Celebrate!
Join your fellow Bible Memory buddies for a banquet to celebrate what God has done in us over the course of the program. More information to come on the banquet pending lifting of COVID restrictions.

Why Bible memory?
Before signing up for the program, it may help you to consider your motivation and expectation. Why are you personally wanting to commit scripture to memory? What do you hope will happen when you memorize Bible verses?
