Dear Church Family,

We will be having a Congregational Meeting after worship on Sept 17th to
vote on whether to sell approximately 16 acres behind the ballfield of the
Camp McCullough property to Renton Christian Schools, where they plan to
build a Middle School and High School.

After worship, we will share a light lunch in Fellowship Hall, present the
official motion, then entertain any remaining questions or comments. We
will then hold the official vote using paper ballots. The vote will be
private (meaning the others in the room won’t know how you voted), but you
will need to put your name on the ballot to confirm your membership status.
We will have a small team count the ballots and then announce preliminary
results when they are counted. We will email results to the congregation
later that day. According to our bylaws, we need 2/3 of our Covenant
Partners present at the meeting to vote “yes” in order to move forward with
the motion. If we don’t receive 2/3 “yes” votes, we will not sign the
agreement with Renton Christian Schools and will continue to seek
alternative plans for meeting our revenue shortfall.

All are welcome to attend the meeting, but only Covenant Partners are able
to vote. Also, our bylaws prohibit proxy voting, so you must be physically
present at the meeting to vote. Our goal throughout this discernment
process has been first to maintain the unity of our church and secondly to
make a wise decision about the stewardship of Camp McCullough. We feel
really good about the process and all of the good discussion that has been
happening over the summer. And we want to conclude this process in as
healthy and transparent a way as possible. Please be praying that the Lord
will help us achieve both of those goals and that he will bless our church
with whatever decision is reached.

Blessings,
Pastor Eric
